DESCRIPTION OF ASSIGNMENT:

Read “Charles” by Shirley Jackson on pp. 229-232 and “The Open Window” by Saki H.H. Munro.
Review the “For Writing or Discussion” on page 235.
Use question number 4 to write an essay comparing and/or contrasting Jackson’s short story with Saki’s. 
Create an outline for your essay using a pattern-by-pattern (block) or point-by-point pattern (alternating).  Be sure to submit your outline with your essay.  
Look under the Required Learning Activity Resource tab to get help with developing your essay and your thesis statement.
